10 months ago today you were born on the island of Oahu. Your daddy and me spent the first two years of our marriage there together. I carried you for forty two weeks.
You and me walked around in the warm sunshine. I can still remember what the wind sounded like when it would blow through the palm trees. We went to Hunama Bay where we snorkled and saw all kinds of beautiful tropical fish. We walked through the shops of Waikiki and watched a hundred breathtaking sunsets; some were from our own back yard and some were from the beautiful North Shore. We heard the crashing tide and watched in awe of it's beauty and power. We watched your daddy get baptized in the ocean.
We made great memories with once in a lifetime kind of friends. We lived a beautiful life there. Your daddy and me couldn't wait to meet you and neither could our friends. The hospital you were born at was on top of a mountain with a view of the ocean on one side and a tropical forest on the other. We will take you back there someday. But for now we are here in Ohio where we are making more beautiful memories. Your daddy and me have watched you roll over for the first time, laugh for the first time, stand on your own for the first time and heard you say "momma" and "dada" for the first time. We found out last week that you were going to be a big brother. I can't wait to see all the beautiful memories that are to come with you and your brother or sister.
Wyatt, your mommy and daddy love you with all our hearts and we are already so proud to call you ours. You bring so much laughter and joy to our hearts. Before you came along I couldn't imagine what it would be like to be a momma. Now that you're here I can't imagine what it would be like to not be one. Happy ten month birthday baby.
