Stealing Joy

{Via}

There are so many things surrounding us that try and steal the special joy that God has intended for you and I! It is easy to get caught up in these things. They range from finances, people, not having enough time to even something someone said or did that may have been hurtful. When we start to dwell on these things and we give these things our energy and thoughts and ultimately our joy this is when we lose focus on what is true and real. Philippians 4:8 says “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things”. Friends, God commands us to not conjure things up in our head and begin to believe the untrue. It is a sin to not obey God’s commands therefore, our thoughts are either right or wrong, they are either acceptable or sinful. I am telling you that it is better to focus on the blessings in your life rather than all of the abundantly negative things around us or the heaping pile of to do’s you may have. Don’t take the easy lazy man’s road and give your joy to things that do not matter. God is there with you and He has His own plan for your day and your moments. Seek joy in every moment because it is a moment that God has given to you and that is very special.
Worrying about what someone has said about you, not to you or thinking about what they may have been thinking is also untrue. Matthew 18:15 says “If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone.” This is saying to go to someone who has wronged you and speak to them about it in private and solve the problem, forgive them and be done with it. This scripture is also saying when other believers obey this command it means when we sin against others, they are to come to us in private and talk about it. This is great news! We don’t have to worry what other Christians are thinking or saying about us. When you obey God’s command here, you are setting yourself free of worry and you are freeing up your time and mind for more productive things such as furthering God’s kingdom!
I hope everyone has a beautiful day today and don’t let something steal the joy God has blessed you with! Count your blessings :)
If you love Me, keep My commandment. He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him. John 14:15,21
